New Family Frequently Asked Questions

Q: When do I drop off my child?

A: Students may arrive as early as 7:30 am to eat breakfast and walk to their classrooms.  You may walk your child to his/her classroom on the first day of school.  

Q: Where do I drop off and pick up my child? 

A: Drop off and pick up is located in our large parking lot on the Rock Springs side. You will be given a car rider sign to make sure you have in your window at dismissal. Walkers/bikers will dismiss at their assigned doors by the playground. 

Q: What time is dismissal? 

A: Pre-K-5 are dismissed from the school at 3:20 pm. 

Q: When will my child eat lunch?

Q: Can I join my child for lunch? 

A: All visitors are required to register in the front office immediately after entering campus.  A visitor’s pass is necessary for visiting your child during the lunch period. All visitors will be asked to present a driver’s license. Visitors begin September 8th.

Q: Will my child have snack time?

A: Each child is to bring a snack and water bottle each day.

Q: What if my child forgot something at home? 

A: To keep classroom disruptions to a minimum, we ask that you put all forgotten items you bring to school on the shelf in the front office and we will call the teacher to let them know. 

Q: How do I get in touch with my child’s teacher(s)? 

A: Your child’s classroom teacher(s) will provide you with the best methods for reaching him/her during the school day. 

Q: How do I report an absence for my student? 

The absence line is 281-641-2419, email Amy.McDougald@humbleisd.net or fill out the absence form here.

Q: How can I meet other HHE parents? 

A: There are several events throughout the school year that parents are invited to attend!  Watch for HHE emails for more information. Volunteering at Hidden Hollow and joining the PTA are other great ways to meet other parents.

After joining the PTA you also gain access to the Student Directory that includes the parent provided contact info of many students in the school (great for getting phone numbers to pass out birthday invites to or for planning play dates!).  

Q: How can I volunteer at HHE? 

A: We would love for you to share your time and talents with our school! There are many volunteer opportunities at HHE. Be sure to complete the Volunteer Background Application on the Humble ISD page. You can also contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Breanna Stark, volunteers@hheptakingwood.com.
